In the Emirates FA Cup Garforth have been drawn away to NPL side Shildon AFC in the Extra Preliminary Round. The tie is to be played on Saturday 7th August (kick-off 3pm). The Railwaymen are a familiar opponent in the competition and the draw is indeed a repeat of that two seasons ago. Supporters will recall a dramatic 3-2 win for The Miners in a replay after a goalless draw at Dean Street three days before.
Should we pull off that feat once again, we'd host NPL neighbours Brighouse Town at the Bannister Prentice Stadium on Saturday 21st August.
In the Buildbase FA Vase, we hit the M62 to face North West Counties League club Squires Gate on Saturday 11th September (kick-off 3pm). This First Qualifying Round tie will be the first ever meeting between the two sides. A home tie against another NWCFL side, Garstang, on Saturday 25th September awaits us should we prevail.
Due to the uncertainty posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, the club decided not to enter the FA Youth Cup this season.
