Well here we are again ladies and gents! Tomorrow we kick-off the league season looking to translate the most positive pre-season at the club in some years into points on the board. Whilst promotion is the aim every year, the retention of nearly all of last season’s squad, plus some big-name signings, make this the best chance our manager Rob Hunter – now in his fourth season at the helm - will get to lead us there.

As well as a name change (the word 'Parramore' being dropped) and a change of manager, the Ambers found themselves, as we did a year ago, having to rebuild their squad over the summer after much of last season's squad departed. New boss Russ Eagle, highly experienced at this level, has seen his side go unbeaten through pre-season however, and with a celebrated academy system at his disposal is sure to bring a competitive side to LS25 tomorrow.

Assistant Mark Smitheringdale will be in charge for this one as Rob is serving a one-match ban for words said to the referee when, as it happens, the two teams last met on March 30th. The result was a goalless draw on Cedar Ridge, one of a number of positive results which ensured our Premier Division safety for another season.

With Leeds United not in action until Sunday, why not give your local side a try? Hope to see you there, up the Miners!
