After disappointment in the FA Cup last month, the FA Vase brings another chance of a potentially lucrative cup run. Our hosts hail from a step lower in the North West Counties League Division 1, but Rob Hunter's team will already know this matters little on the day after being dumped out of the competition last season at stable-mates Daisy Hill.
Our visitors Holker have had a difficult start to the season, but after four straight defeats they finally earned their first win of the season on Wednesday over fellow strugglers Nelson. Incidentally it's the Lancashire side who'll be the next opponent for tomorrow's winners.
The two sides have met twice before, in the same competition, back in September 2003. Scott Ryan (2), Lee Ryan and Gary Jones scored in a topsy-turvy 4-4 draw in Furness to bring The Stags back to Cedar Ridge three days later. Town won the replay 4-0, more on those games in the programme!
