The visitors began the afternoon the better side as Taylor Kennerley fired beyond the far post early on when getting clear of the defence.
Garforth took the lead against the run of play however on 17 mins and two further goals in a super twelve minute spell pretty much sealed victory. Harry Colville's delivery found Harrison Eggleston who headed in at the far post for his first goal for the club. He turned provider two minutes later as The '74 struggled to handle his pace and determination, finding Luke Aldrich in the box who slotted home.
Ollie Patrick was unlucky not to add to Monday's winner at Tadcaster Magnets on 24 mins, his low shot hitting the post after Eggleston picked the pocket of the fullback and squared to the edge of the box. It was three three mins later though when a corner kick led to head tennis in the six yard box and Jordan Emery bundling in.
Our Cheshire opponents did better in a more even second half and grabbed one back with a well-worked goal on 50 mins. Blake Robinson played in Harry Lynn who scored with a cool finish. Kenny Mwaliteta forced a save at the near post from Harry Flatters on 67 mins after a flowing move down the left. There was almost a rare goal for sub Alex Zacahariou when an incisive James Burgess ball forward sent him racing clear however 1874 keeper Ellis Allen was quickly off his line to deny him.
Fellow full-back Max Tweddle wasn't to be denied two minutes from time however when he found himself in space 25 yards out and scored with a cracking finish.
There was some confusion at the end of match when Town cleared the ball from a goalmouth scramble, the referee pointing to the centre-circle to indicate a goal being scored, but rather than allowing the restart, blew up for full-time instead. It turned out the ball had crossed the line and the visitors had another one back. Answers on a postcard as to who scored it!
