A solitary first half goal by Michael Coulson was enough to win the first meeting between these teams in three years.
Coulson latched on to a deep cross and headed against the woodwork, but the ball deflected onto Garforth keeper Harry Flatters and bobbled over the line.
Garforth made five attacking changes in the second half, but couldn't find the equaliser, despite their efforts.
Bridlington goalkeeper Sebastian Malkowski pulled off a brilliant close range save to deny Harry Viggars, and Max Tweddle saw a penalty claim waved away as the home side pushed for the leveller.
The win saw the Seasiders draw level with the Miners on eleven points.
