Garforth Town 2-1 Consett

Garforth Town 2-1 Consett

Jonathan McGourty11 Mar - 10:40

Garforth recorded a deserved win on a cold night at the Bannister Prentice Stadium.

Following two games without a goal, it was important for Garforth to get back to winning ways, and they came out of the traps on the front foot.

Plenty of chances went begging before a bizarre passage of play gave them the opener on thirty seven minutes.
The ball took a couple of ricochets off of players before rolling across the goal line. Luke Aldrich greatfully claimed the goal.

There were groans around the ground, as Consetts' first effort brought about an equaliser on fifty four minutes.
Heads didn't drop though and Garforth continued to push forward.

Substitute Mutty provided the moment of skill and composure that was needed when he turned his marker inside out before firing a low shot across the keeper and inside the far post.

The visitors gave Town a couple of nervy moments in the dying minutes, but The Miners looked comfortable enough to secure three points.
Garforth are next in action at home to Bradford Park Avenue on Saturday (14th March). Kick off 3pm.
