Following a couple of weeks of training, Garforths' pre-season gets underway this Saturday with the visit of a familiar oponent - Emley AFC.
Being billed by some supporters as the "Rinor deby", it will be the first meeting between the sides since the right-sided defender/midfielder swapped allegiances this summer.
The Pewitts acheived their second promotion in three seasons last term, having arrived in the NPL along with Garforth in the 24/25 season.
Paul Marshall has retained the vast majority of his squad, while adding more quality to the back.
Vastly experienced centre back Niall Tilsley joins from North Ferriby, who he captained in over 200 games. "Tillo" reunites with Marshall, who managed him to promotion when they were at Pickering.
Local lad Jack Johnson (from Kippax) also joins from North Ferriby. Jack was a highly rated player at Ferriby, and can play on either side of defence.
A number of trialists have been training with the squad and we can expect some to feature in this first pre-season outing.
