Just as supporters were commenting on our social media channels what an enjoyable season it's been, there'll be at least one more fixture to look forward to regardless of how we fare at AFC Mansfield on Saturday. The NCEL have today announced that Penistone Church have been removed from the League Cup after fielding an ineligible player against us in the third round tie at the Bannister Prentice Stadium back on 25th January. After the South Yorkshire side went on to beat Bottesford Town in the next round, both The Miners and Bottesford have been reinstated into the competition and will play each other at Birch Park in a replayed Quarter Final clash on Saturday 16th April (kick-off 3pm). The tie gives Paul Marshall's side a chance for revenge against The Poachers who completed the double over us this season, and to finally end our run of defeats in all of our four previous visits there.
A home tie against Premier Division champions Grimsby Borough awaits the winner in the Semi-Final, to be played on 19th or 20th April.
Up the Miners!
