Garforth Town are set to travel northeast to face 18th-placed Guisborough in an unusual Wednesday night fixture. Tomorrow night’s game follows a 3-0 away win against Hallam, with goals from Harris Eggleston and Ronnie McGrath moving The Miners up to 8th in the NPL Division 1 East table.
Garforth have proven dangerous away from home so far this season, with 11 of their 20 points coming outside of the BD Community Stadium. Last week’s 3-0 win over rock-bottom Hallam added to Garforth’s impressive away record; an earlier 1-1 draw against current league leaders Bradford (Park Avenue) also stands out as one of Garforth’s finest performances this year.
The newly promoted side enter tomorrow’s clash in a rut of four consecutive league defeats, including last weekend's 1-0 home loss to Blyth Spartans. However, Guisborough Town have protected home soil diligently, with all 3 league wins coming at the Kevin Edward KGV Stadium so far in 2026.
Garforth and Guisborough have met only once before in club history. The latter won 4-0 in a pre-season friendly on 15 July 2017; there will be a resounding consensus not to repeat that scoreline come Wednesday night.
Garforth, facing injury adversity of their own, will look forward to this match as another inviting opportunity to climb the league table. The home side will look to build on previous home success and end a dismal four-game slump. Two sides chasing glory, but who will reach for the stars only to come crashing back down to Earth?
Find out tonight, with kick-off at 7:45pm.
