A third West Yorkshire opponent on the spin lies ahead for the Miners, as Brighouse Town make the trip to the Bannister Prentice Stadium. The hectic festive period means this match will be the first of two games in three days for Garforth.

The two sides last met back in October in the West Riding County Cup: goals from Dexter Ball, Max Bauer and a Max Tweddle brace (both from the spot) sealed victory in a 4-2 goal fest. Currently, the visitors sit 16th in the NPL East table in comparison to the Miners in 9th, although Brighouse have a game or two in hand over most of the division.

Last weekend, Brighouse fell short to league leaders Cleethorpes Town in a 3-0 defeat. The team only sits one point above the relegation zone, however solid results from their games in hand could see them in much safer circumstances. Manager Grant Black's side certainly have had their fair share of tight results: Brighouse are the lowest scorers in the league with 17 goals but have the best defensive record in the bottom half.

In attempt to improve the goalscoring situation, Brighouse recently made the signing of striker Akeel Francis from Wakefield AFC. The player managed to notch 13 goals for himself this season at Step 6 before making the switch, as well as bagging a debut goal in Brighouse's 4-1 victory against Carlton Town in late November. Another goal for the target man could be on the cards this Thursday.

Returning to the Miners, a disappointing 2-1 loss to Liversedge on Saturday saw Paul Marshall's side concede two late goals to overthrow a Max Tweddle penalty. The visit from Brighouse offers an opportunity to quickly redeem Saturday's mistakes and put on an impressive showing on home soil.

No new injury concerns should affect the team selection, nevertheless the upcoming period of two games in three days may likely force squad rotation. It's now up to the Miners to put on a festive treat and hopefully claim all three points.

The nearest bus stop is on Aberford Road (stop is named Aberford Road, Brierlands Close) and is serviced by the Arriva 164 bus.
Garforth Railway Station is a mile from the club, there is also a taxi office at the train station.
As always, there'll be limited parking at the ground and a steward will direct you as you turn on to Cedar Ridge.
