After four away games in a row, Garforth Town play their first game of the 2026/27 league season in front of their home crowd. North Ferriby will travel across the M62 this Tuesday to play at the BD Community Stadium, where they face an unbeaten Garforth side.

Following Saturday’s last-gasp FA Cup triumph, Garforth are faced with a short three-day turnaround before continuing their league campaign against a North Ferriby side that sits 1 place below them in the NPL Division 1 East table.

The visitors come into Tuesday’s clash in a similar, yet also directly opposing situation to that of the home side. Both teams have begun their league campaigns with 4 points from 2 games, with Garforth playing both games away and North Ferriby playing both of theirs at home. Therefore, a first for both teams this league season will occur tomorrow, and no better way to start than in a Yorkshire derby.

Last time the two sides met, it was derby-day delight for Garforth Town thanks to a 90+1 minute winner from Owen Marshall. A tight and tense victory at home will more than do for Paul Marshall’s side, with a win tomorrow potentially moving Garforth up to second in the league table.

However, the home side will be tasked with the difficult job of neutralising North Ferriby’s Jacob Antony Day, also known as Jake Day, who has started the year in fine form with 2 goals in 2 league games.

There will be some familiar faces on show for the North Ferriby supporters, with two of Garforth Town’s summer additions having parted ways with the Villagers earlier this season. Centre-half and goalscorer in our most recent FA Cup victory against Droylsden, Niall Tilsley, captained the visitors over 200 times before switching allegiances to the BD Community Stadium; and versatile defender Jack Johnson, who made 31 appearances for the away side in the 2025/26 season. Both are set to face their former club this Tuesday.

Kick-off at the BD Community Stadium is at 7:45pm.

Dean Windass and Noel Whelan will be guests in the Steve Hayle hospiality suite.
