Tomorrow’s West Yorkshire derby sees 7th face 16th in the league table, with a win potentially putting Garforth into the top four and among elite company at the peak of the Northern Premier League Division 1 East.

The home side come into the match following a successful week of performances. Garforth began last Tuesday by breaking their 29-day winless run with a dominant 4-1 victory against Stocksbridge Park Steels. Two goals from Mutty, a spectacular strike from Oli Patrick, and a left-footed goal from Harris Eggleston helped the Miners take the win and all three points.

However, at half-time on Saturday, Garforth found themselves two goals down, and 3 points looked like all they'd get from the week. Nevertheless, the home side dug deep and, with goals from Charlie Marshall and inform Mutty, earned a hard-fought point to move up to 7th in the league table.

Similarly, the visitors defeated Bridlington Town by three goals to one last Tuesday before turning around a one-goal deficit on the Saturday, matching Garforth’s respective points tally in almost identical fashion.

Tuesday’s fixture has brought Garforth Town a fair amount of success in recent years, with last season’s commanding 3-0 victory at the BD Community Stadium a standout. Two goals that day from Luke Aldrich and a close-range strike from skipper Jamie Barkway gave the Miners something to cheer about, and they will be looking to do the same again tomorrow night.

Will it be copy-and-paste for Garforth Town, or will Ossett United get their well overdue payback at the BD Community Stadium? Find out tomorrow night as kick-off begins at 7:45pm.
