After a run of five consecutive away matches, the Miners finally return to the Bannister Prentice Stadium this Saturday to face Nottinghamshire side Sherwood Colliery. Despite an unlucky defeat midweek to North Ferriby, Garforth have managed to pick up an impressive five wins from eight games in all competitions and Paul Marshall's side will look to maintain their quality run of form.

Our opponents currently sit 17th in the NPL East table compared to Town in 9th; the sides not having played each other since the 2021/22 Northern Counties East League campaign, in which the Miners managed to achieve the double over Colliery with 2-0 and 2-1 victories. However, the following season saw Sherwood transfer across to the United Counties Premier North Division - with both teams achieving promotion from their respective divisions last season to the NPL.

A 2-0 defeat to Bridlington Town in their last match saw the Wood play their final fixture at their temporary home at Rainworth MW, as the installation of a 3G pitch to home ground Debdale Park has just been completed. The news will be very welcomed by the visitors, who have only managed to pick up one win in their last ten matches in the league.

Manager Wayne Savage recently stated his team were "lacking consistency and being punished" in recent times, although their solid start earlier in the season did prove that the Wood certainly can compete in this division. In terms of the squad, new signing Mason Lee will look to get off the mark after his move from Grantham Town; the forward having made his debut against Bridlington, starting alongside Colliery's top marksman Alexander Duhameau.

Returning to the Miners, the long-awaited return to home soil in addition to their current superb run should bolster confidence in the Town camp ahead of Saturday. No new injury concerns trouble Paul Marshall's team selection, though Sherwood will mark Garforth's 6th game in 18 days: the demanding period potentially forcing some squad rotation.

A fixture finally back at the Bannister Prentice Stadium during the international break should make for a cracking atmosphere, leaving it to Town to impress yet again and claim all three points.

We're asking for donations of new toys, no matter how big or small (from colouring books and puzzles, to dolls, board games, headphones, make-up sets etc...).
These will then be donated to local fmilies in need, and a childrens hopice and hospital.

The Tudor Sales and Lettings clubhouse bar will be open from 1pm, serving an excellent array of cold drinks, and local beers from Kirkstall Brewery.

Ralphs Kiosk snack bar will have all the usual selection of hot and cold food and drinks.
Our pitchside bar will also be in operation, and this Saturday they'll be serving up mulled wine and Baileys hot chocolate.

The match day programme is £2 and available in the bar or on the gate.
You can use cash or card payments anywhere inside the ground.

Please respect our neighbours and do not park anywhere on Cedar Ridge, or the housing estate leading up to the club.

If you're local and can get here by walking or public transport, that would be great.
The nearest bus stop is on Aberford Road (stop is named Aberford Road, Brierlands Close) and is serviced by the Arriva 164 bus.
Garforth Railway Station is a mile from the club, there is also a taxi office at the train station.
As always, there'll be limited parking at the ground and a steward will direct you as you turn on to Cedar Ridge.
