Garforth head North again in this seasons FA Cup Extra Prliminary Round.
Six of the current Garforth squad were involved when the teams met at this stage back in 2020.
The Miners lost 0-3 (see highlights), but the Bannister Prentice Stadium crowd witnessed what was one of the goals of the whole competition that season, a twenty yard overhead kick by Adam Shanks (the preliminary round obviously not glamorous enough to feature in the FAs final goals of the competition).
It's been a mixed start to the season for both sides.
Garforth followed up a disapointing opening day loss with a creditable away point at Emley, while Whitley Bay suffered a crushing 0-6 home defeat (to our upcoming FA Vase opponents West Allotment Celtic).
Despite this weeks results, the home side will be favourites to progress, but Garforth have exited at this stage for the past two seasons and will be throwing everything they can at The Bay to end that run.
