We were last in action on this date back in 2009. A goal from Karl Askham, his only one for the club, was enough to defeat Chorley 1-0 on Cedar Ridge in a league game.

There was a local derby exactly twelve months before when we hosted Harrogate Railway in a Unibond League North Division (as was) match. A Gregg Kelly brace and one from Louis DeMello gave Steve Nichol's side a 3-2 win. Sadly that was to be our last that season as our first in NPL football finished with a six game winless run.
In 2006 we went down 2-0 at home to Pickering Town in a league match, whilst in 2000 we hosted a Derby County XI for a friendly but sadly the result is missing from my records.
This day in 1998 was a momentous one as Town hosted Staveley MW at Brierlands Lane. A 0-0 draw was enough to seal promotion to the NCEL Premier Division for the very first time with four games to spare. Part of a fourteen-game unbeaten run for Dave Parker's men which may not have been bettered (research needed on this!).
The Miners were away on this day in 1992, going down 2-1 at Hatfield Main in a league match. Terry O'Neill with our consolation.

In 1987 Town shared a goalless draw at Dronfield United in the league. One of the club's oldest local derbies is against Micklefield FC, who we faced in the Barkston Ash Sunday Cup Semi-Final on this day in 1971. Roger Houston (2) and P. Davey were on target in a 3-0 win for the Miners' Arms.
