A big Garforth welcome to Red Bates, Duke Witter and Hass Gorji who have signed for the club this week.
Red is a left or right sided midfield player previously with Athersley Rec, Hemsworth, Liversedge and Ossett Albion.
Hass is a striker who can count Tadcaster Albion, Lancaster City and Cheadle Town among his former clubs. He's also spent a season on scholarship in America and joins us on a dual registration with Southern League side Peterborough Sports.
And finally Duke is an attacking midfielder who impressed in Tuesday's friendly against Nostell. Previously with Strensall Tigers and York Cubs.
Meanwhile, staying with us is 'Captain Coops' Dan Coupland. The attacking midfielder was given the armband last October after the departure of Jack Lazenby and hopefully retains his 'right time, right place' instincts shown in the last two seasons. Fellow midfielder Joe Colley is another to sign up. One of Town's longest serving players despite his young age, Joe will look to pick up where he left off last season where he looked only to have improved had Covid-19 lockdowns not scuppered proceedings.
Fullbacks Sam Leach and Fergus McAughtrie also sign for another season. A former Ralph Backhouse trophy winner, Sam's pace and determination made him a firm fixture in the squad last season. After showing promise in pre-season, Fergus' didn't manage a competitive appearance last season (as it was), but shows loyalty in signing again and will hope to put himself firmly in Paul Marshall's plans this time around.
Karl Fitzgerald stays with us too. The central defender/full-back's composed performances made him another firm fixture in last season's squad.
One more player confirmed to have left is Joe Thornton. The midfielder joined us from Yorkshire Amateur last September and made his debut against Sunderland West End, but will be best remembered for two cracking goals in the 5-1 win against Grimsby Borough a fortnight later. Best wishes for the future Joe!
