Garforth face Runcorn Linnets at the APEC Taxis Stadium.

Garforth Town hit the road this Saturday as they make the trip to Cheshire to face Runcorn Linnets in the FA Trophy First Qualifying Round. Kick-off is at 3pm.

The Miners head into the tie on the back of a thrilling 4–2 victory over Bishop Auckland, where Rinor Ejupi struck twice to earn Man of the Match honours. There were also first goals of the campaign for Jordan Emery and Harry Colville, while Dan Coupland, Nash Connolly, Max Tweddle and George Harrison have all found the net in league action this season.

Saturday’s hosts Runcorn Linnets currently sit 5th in the Northern Premier League Division One West, unbeaten in league play so far with two wins and two draws. They come into the Trophy on good form, having beaten West Didsbury & Chorlton 2–0 in last weekend’s FA Cup tie. Striker Scott Bakkor is their main threat with six goals already this season, supported by Naim Arsan and Sean Miller.

It’s the first-ever meeting between the two clubs, with both sides eyeing a place in the next round of the competition. With Town buoyed by their attacking display last time out, and Linnets in strong early-season form, it promises to be a competitive cup clash.

Kick-off at the APEC Taxis Stadium is 3pm.
