Garforth were defeated in the league for the first time under Paul Marshall as Maltby raced to a three goal lead at the break.
After a bright start, Garforth suffered a setback when Sam Denton hobbled off, forcing a re-shuffle. Maltby capitalised and found themselves seemingly out of sight at half time.
A late fightback through a Sean Hunter brace was eventually curtailed when the visitors added a fourth in the dying minutes.
