After an hour to forget and being three goals down, Garforth injected some urgency into their game and almost produced a stunning late comeback.
Mark Simpson calmly slotted home after out-foxing the keeper and Jack McMurrough (pictured) smashed home a second goal off the underside of the bar, but time was against the Miners and Penistone held on for the win.
