Garforth Town FC has today confirmed that Sam and Matt Whitley are joining the club's ownership group, strengthening the leadership team as the club continues its progress in the Northern Premier League Division 1 East.
Sam Whitley has served as General Manager for the past three years, becoming a driving force behind the club's day-to-day operations. Her move into ownership reflects the value she has already brought to Garforth Town and gives the club continuity at the top as it looks to build on its current trajectory.
Matt Whitley joins the ownership group bringing a strong network of contacts and commercial experience, adding further depth to the club's off-field capability.
Chairman Andy Hey said: "Sam has shown three years of genuine passion and enthusiasm for this club, and bringing her into ownership means we can keep building on that. Matt adds real commercial nous and connections we can put to good use. Between the two of them, we've got real security in where this club is heading."
Sam Whitley added: "The last three years have flown by, and I can't wait to keep building on what we've already achieved and started. Just don't ask me to laugh at Matt's parking jokes, ownership only stretches so far."
