The season is finally here, and once again we start things off with a tricky FA Cup tie against a side from the Northern League. He'll need this, plus his team firing on all cylinders to prevail against a side who've won all five of their pre-season games. The famous old trophy has not been kind to us in recent years, only once in the last four seasons have we avoided an exit at the first attempt. With £1500 prize money at stake this round can this time be different?
The two teams have never met, however The Miners have played at Meadow Park before. This was also in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round, in a relocated tie against South Shields on 26th August 2000. Dave Harrison's team lost out 2-1, despite a goal from Dave Henry.
