Garforth had to settle for a share of the points in their first game at the Bannister Prentice Stadium for almost a month.
Despite dominating for large swathes of the match, the Miners couldn't find a winner, partly thanks to some exceptional saves from Kyle Seymour in the Aycliffe goal.
The visitors almost got off to a dream start when a superb volley crashed against the frame of the Garforth goal, but from then on it was Garforth that took the game by the scruff of the neck.
Luke Aldrich and Matt Savage were both thwarted by stunning saves, but when Aldrich saw a second header saved, Dan Coupland Was in the right spot to tap home, giving Town a half time lead.
Just five minutes into the second half, Garforth were stunned by a fine finish from Tom Henson, who rifled a shot into the top corner from just inside the area.
Harry Colville and Joe Allerton came close to restoring the lead, but a moment of magic from Nicky Deverdics left Miners fans in shock.
As Flatters raced from his area to intercept a through ball, he only managed to knock the ball to the edge of the centre circle. Deverdics kept his composure and lofted the ball straight back into the empty net.
As time looked to be running out, Coupland was once again in the right spot, guiding home a knock down from Jamie Barkway with five minutes left on the clock.
Into four added minutes, there was still time for a last Garforth onslaught. Charlie Marshall saw his clever flick bounce off the post and then clawed off the line by Seymour. Coupland got to the rebound, but a defender blocked his goal-bound effort. In the aftermath, Marshall was inches away from connecting with a cross.
Time eventually ran out, leaving Paul Marshall frustrated with a point, but encouraged by his sides' attacking intent throughout the game.
Garforth are next in action on Saturday 4th October, with a home game against Redacr Athletic. Kick off is 3pm
