Cliff Richard, Wham, Eminem, Take That and the Teletubbies have all sat in second place on Christmas day. Now Garforth Town will join that honourable list after a fine win at Grimsby.

A crowd of 125 at the Bradley Football Development Centre were there to witness the Miners climb the charts.
Grimsby were hoping to avenge the 5-1 "sleighing" they suffered back in October at the Bannister Prentice Stadium, but Garforth continued with the fine form they'd hit just before the last lockdown.

Sam Denton gave Garforth the lead on 35 minutes with his second goal in successive games. Dan Coupland "wrapped" up the win with his second goal against Grimsby this season, to put Town almost top of the tree for Christmas.
